Credit goes to Mori Suzu for creating the human clans. Much thanks, Suzu! =3
The Zenshimin Clan (literally meaning citizens of the city):
The people who live in the Nameless City have strict laws and order. They have a complex political system and most worship Benzaiten, the god of wealth, although religion isn't as common. They elect three representatives every six months who vote for what needs to be done to help and regulate the city and its people.
In Takai, people follow the King and the military. The laws and order are as strict as the King decides to make them. They worship the Tenshinchigi, the gods of heaven and earth.
The Mizu Clan (water):
These people live near (and sometimes even on) water sources such as lakes, rivers, streams, seas, ponds, etc. They worship Unsui, goddess of clouds and water, and Ame, god of rain. They elect a town council of eleven people every three years. They are excellent importing and exporting merchants. They travel over the water in boats and are a center for commerce and trade. They travel between the two cities often, and are updated on the latest news first.
The Kasai Clan (fire):
The live near volcanoes and closer to the equator. They wake when the sun rises and sleep when it sets and have many religious rituals containing fire. They worship Shakaku, the angel of fire. They follow a single leader whose rulership is passed down by blood, until they are overthrown in a fair battle of swordsmanship. They are the most fierce in battle and quite willing to fight the uska.
The Tsuchi Clan (earth):
The often live in the mountains. They also live in trenches, hills, valleys, etc. They worship Doseki, spirit of earth and stones. They have a single ruler who inherts by blood. But along with the ruler is a small council of five that are elected every 6 years. The single ruler and the council debate and review topics of important matters. The sigle ruler and the council have equal votes. If they tie, the people vote. They respect nature quite a lot, and can make excellant weapons and tools from the stones they mine. It is said that they have found a way to use even diamond. They are a wealthy clan, for they have gold, sliver, and countless other jewels. They are influential in the politics.
The Kuuki Clan (air):
They live on mountaintops and in tree houses. They wordship Kuuchuu, the god(dess) of sky and air. Thought to be both man and woman. They follow the advice of the town elders. They know what the coming weather will be and know how to take advantage in battle because of this.
The Shinzui Clan (spirit):
These poeple are the most mystical. They hold great reverance for their deities and follow the words of their mystics and mages. They worship the gods, goddesses, spirits, and angels of the fire, water, earth, and air peoples. Some are said to be prophetic. They have the most insight and are the most willing to make peace with the uskas.
